In an effort to get more money, which the State of Utah is threatening to keep instead of sharing, I have been taking several classes from UEN on various technologies usable in schools. Oh yes, and let's not forget I must renew my license this year if I plan to stay employed. The first class I took was on Microsoft PowePoint, and I made one fine presentation, if I may say so. I also know how to save files and send annoying spammed movies to all my friends and frenemies using e-mail.
The next class was a digital photography class, and not owning a digital camera personally (I do have one for classroom use) it was very enlightening. I learned about editing in Picasa ( a free program from Google) and then made a movie in Photostory. You can get Photostory from Microsoft. I am also learning to edit movies or music clips in MovieMaker so you can use just what you want of a clip. The best gift of learning was how to download files from YouTube.
So I now posess the unlimited potential to waste every gigobyte on my computer storing useless clips posted on YouTube. I have very quickly learned the limitations of a flash drive as related to space. I hope to add some of my best photos on my blog soon, so there will be something to look forward to!
I also plan to waste more hours using the many tools available on Google. The worst part of all this is I never realized what a geek and a nerd I am. I always knew I was a bit on the freakish side, but the past few weekends has really brought out my need for a virtual pocket protector. Who knew?
